Why did EUKARIOS start?
I've always been drawn to the incredible diversity of world music, the harmonies, the rhythms, the textures that span continents and centuries. But as my family and I explored that world, I kept running into the same tension: the music I loved most didn't always reflect the values I wanted to carry into my home.
I wanted the Bible to travel with me through the week. Not just on Sunday mornings, not just in worship settings, but in the car, in the kitchen, on a Tuesday afternoon. Music that lets Scripture speak in the middle of ordinary life, carried by the same rhythm diversity that always attracted me to secular music.
So I started writing it myself.
What emerged was a catalog that doesn't fit neatly into one box. Some songs are simply good listening, grounded in biblical truth without announcing it, the kind that quietly reminds you what matters without interrupting your morning. Others dig into history and Scripture, albums like Heroes explore the lives and faith of biblical figures with the curiosity of a documentary. And some are plain preaching: timely, direct, the kind of word you might need at 2pm on a Wednesday when your pastor isn't around.
After the first two albums, something unexpected happened: my wife started listening every day. My kids added the songs to their playlists. And I noticed a real shift in our home, in our conversations, in our mood, in how we treated each other. That confirmed what I'd suspected: the music we surround ourselves with shapes us, quietly, over time.
EUKARIOS is my answer to a gap I couldn't find filled anywhere else: the full richness of world rhythms and harmonies, with a worldview that points toward something better.
Where the name comes from
The name EUKARIOS began as a happy accident: a misspelling of the Greek Eukairos, meaning "the right time." It turned out to be the perfect word for this season: a unique name for a unique mission.
Who we are
I'm a Brazilian-born artist who's lived half my life in the U.S. I write in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Italian, drawing from the rhythms that shaped me: bossa nova, soul, pop, and jazz. My family often joins me: my daughter, my son, our instruments, and the technology that helps us bring these ideas to life. Friends who visit often end up playing on one or more tracks; EUKARIOS is made in community too.
AI helps me create: sometimes through generated stems, sometimes with organic recordings from our home studio. The result is music that's alive, reflective, and full of heart.
The heartbeat of the project
Each album carries the heartbeat of EUKARIOS, songs that capture real emotions: awe, fear, doubt, and surrender. Songs that make you think, feel, and see God in the stories of ordinary people who encountered something extraordinary.
We've released albums exploring biblical themes and experiences of faith in Portuguese: Dias de Paz, Tempo do Senhor, Caminhos Tangenciais, Fé de Cordel, and Cartas às Igrejas, and one album in Italian, Cammino Di Grazia.
